Jay M. Short, PhD

LF'03

Dr. Jay Short is a cofounder of BioAtla® and co-inventor of the BioAtla’s patented Conditionally Active Biologics (CAB) platform.  As a member of the Explorers Club, Jay participated in two flag expeditions. 1) microbe collections in thermal springs in Kamchatka and 2) microbe collections from underwater silica spires in Yellowstone Lake. The goal was to find microbes from extreme environments that would yield important enzymes that could operate under stringent industrial conditions.
